Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed Review
Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed Software, Drivers, Manual Download – Razer has many variants of wireless gaming mice, and one of the highlights is the Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed. As a wireless mouse, this series features an advanced Razer 5G optical sensor that offers high precision and smooth movement without lag. Wireless connectivity has two mode options: Bluetooth Bluetooth LE and RF 2.4 GHz. To switch modes, you must slide the switch at the mouse’s bottom. The position of the switch in the middle helps turn off the function, so that battery consumption is more efficient.
Basilisk X Hyperspeed Design
Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed comes with medium-sized dimensions, so it is comfortable even for users with large hands. The left side has a comfortable place for the thumb position. However, this makes it only available for right-handed users, not left-handed users. The Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed lacks RGB lighting. The Razer logo on the body doesn’t have lighting like the other series. This lack of lighting also makes power consumption more efficient so that battery life lasts longer.
But there is one lighting at the top, precisely on the button near the scroll wheel. The lighting on the button is an indicator light with several colors as markers. The green color flashes when you activate Bluetooth LE mode and when pairing. The blue color will flash when activating the 2.4 GHz RF mode. Meanwhile, the color will turn red if the battery is less than 5%.
Basilisk X Hyperspeed Features
Razer has Bluetooth LE and RF 2.4 GHz Bluetooth modes. Both offer their respective advantages. You must pair Bluetooth LE with a laptop or PC if you choose to activate Bluetooth LE. The advantage is that you don’t need a dongle attached to a USB port. At the same time, the 2.4 GHz RF option requires a built-in dongle that can be plugged into a USB type-A port, and you don’t have to bother with pairing anymore. The built-in dongle is already available and stored in the mouse body next to the battery compartment.
This mouse uses only one AA battery that lasts up to 450 hours using Bluetooth LE. And if the power runs out, you must replace it with a new one. If only this version used an internal rechargeable battery, it would be more practical. This mouse also has a power-saving mode. So if you don’t use it for some time, then the power consumption will be low.
There are six buttons consisting of left and right clicks, a scroll wheel, sensitivity level control buttons, and two buttons on the left. This mouse uses a clicky type, so you will feel a click sound when pressed. Interestingly, you can replace the function of these buttons with other functions offered through the Razer Synapse software. This software is also compatible with other Razer outgoing devices.
If you have Razer Synapse installed, a notification will appear in Windows on the bottom left every time you change the sensitivity level. The sensitivity level options it supports start from 800 dpi, 1,800 dpi, 3,600 dpi, 7,200 dpi, and 16,000 dpi.
