Logitech G815 Software, Driver Update, and Manual Guide

Logitech G815 keyboard Review

Logitech G815 Lightsync Software, Latest Drivers Update, Manual Setup – Logitech has a new mechanical keyboard for gamers: This keyboard is G815. It is Logitech’s first keyboard to feature a new low-profile switch, much thinner than a typical mechanical switch.

Keyboard Design

The Logitech G815 adopts a full-size layout, packed with an aluminum chassis, with a row of macro buttons on the left, profile preset buttons on the top, multimedia buttons, and a volume knob on the top right. Everything, of course, is equipped with an RGB backlight, and the colorful flames can be synchronized with the course of the game or movie that is currently playing.

Logitech says their new low-profile switch is only half the thickness of a standard mechanical switch. Because it is thin, each of the keys can also be made thin, and the device’s overall thickness is recorded at only 22 mm. This combination provides extra comfort and impacts performance, with a claim of 25 percent faster actuation, considering we don’t need to press the button as deeply as usual.

G815 Features

The Logitech G815 is an excellent gaming keyboard almost identical to the Logitech G915 wireless, but the G815 is designed with wired. It features a Logitech low-profile GL switch. It is fully RGB-lit and offers many customization options via software.

This GL-coded switch is available in three variants: GL Clicky, GL Tactile, and GL Linear. Each has characteristics similar to the most common Cherry MX trio of switches: the GL Clicky looks like Cherry MX Blue, the GL Tactile looks like Cherry MX Brown, and the GL Linear looks like Cherry MX Red.

The only difference between the G815 and the G915 is the connectivity: the G915 is wireless, and the G815 isn’t. Wireless in the Logitech dictionary is known as Lightspeed, which relies on a dongle that connects to a computer to provide a very stable and low-latency wireless connection.

It may take a while to get used to the low-profile Keycaps, but it makes it comfortable to type on, even without an armrest. It has a dedicated macro key column, which is excellent for MMO players and programmers. Unlike the G915 wireless, the G815 has a USB passthrough that you can use to charge your mobile device or connect to other peripherals.

If a gaming keyboard with wireless connectivity is not a priority and you want to save money, the $169.99 Logitech G815 can be an alternative.
