Logitech G413 SE Software, Driver Update & Manual Guide – The Logitech G413-SE is a simple gaming keyboard from Logitech G with essential features for gaming. Of course, at an affordable price. Although inexpensive, this keyboard is still equipped with tactile mechanical switches, a reasonably sturdy body, and an LED backlight. Yes, so this is not an old-fashioned and cheap-looking keyboard!
Keyboard Design
This keyboard has a black base color and generally looks simple but still carries an elegant impression. The body is fairly sturdy because the cross-section of this keyboard uses aluminum alloy material. It is essential for the keyboard’s durability because it is usually bought for 1-2 years and long-term use.
The keycap uses PBT Keycap, which offers high resistance to “wear” and “heat”. Supposedly, the buttons are not easily worn or damaged even though they are used intensively. These keys, at first glance, look plain, especially when the keyboard is not turned on. However, when turned on, it is only seen that the keys on this keyboard have key markers, which will be visible when exposed to light from the LED backlight.
G413 SE features
Regarding the LED backlight, the color can only be white, not RGB. But remember, this is an affordable keyboard. So it’s natural that the backlight is only one color, and yes, it has a backlight. The backlight has 3 brightness levels. It can be set directly by using the keyboard’s Fn + F1/F2 key combination. Or, if needed, this backlight can also be turned off. Interestingly, this backlight also has a simple lighting effect. Five effects can be selected via Fn + F12.
In addition to backlight settings, this Fn key combination can be used for several other things, such as multimedia and device audio volume control. There is also a combination Fn + Win Key that can be used to lock the Windows key. It prevents buttons from being accidentally pressed while playing games.
Switch to the gaming aspect. The tactile-type mechanical switches used in this keyboard are usually preferred by some gamers because ” feedback ” is generated when the keys are pressed. This feedback is usually sought because gamers feel “sure” when the button is pressed. In addition, there is also a 6-Key Rollover feature to ensure anti-ghosting performance. This feature can ensure that all the keys pressed are recognized at the same time. This is important because if there is an unrecognized emphasis, problems may arise while playing the game.
G413 SE Performance
When we tried it for daily use, we felt that this keyboard did not need an “adaptation period” because the layout and spacing between the keys were quite standard. Regarding the level of keyboard tilt, we feel the standard tilt is sufficient. However, if you feel the slope is lacking, some legs can be opened to increase the slope of the keyboard slightly.
When playing games, this more pronounced tactile will help provide a sense of certainty when the button is pressed. However, remember also that not all gamers will like this tactile effect—some like the linear type, which will generally provide a lighter feel. Unfortunately, the Logitech G413-SE keyboard only provides a tactile switch option.
Switching to a 6-key rollover, it could recognize pressing more than 6 keys simultaneously when we tried this keyboard. Even when we tried more than 10 fingers, all the keys pressed were still well recognized, without any ghosting symptoms. When the test focused on the WASD keys commonly used by gamers, we also did not find any other keys that were not legible when the four keys were pressed simultaneously continuously.
