It is a great wheel that can radically increase your enjoyment of racing games if you don’t already have a racing wheel. However, it offers only minor improvements over the Logitech G27, the wheel that didn’t work with the PS4 due to a controversial compatibility issue.
G29: Design
Logitech G29 does its best to look and feel like a ‘real’ steering wheel. And those of you who have owned or wanted one of these wheels for years will notice that it looks a lot like the Logitech G27, its last-gen sibling.
At 27 cm in diameter, with a mostly metal frame and covered in leather, the G29 has a build that’s sophisticated enough to give you enough ammo to convince people it’s not a toy.
Being a PlayStation-centric model has allowed Logitech to come out with the G29 with all the necessary buttons to control PS 5, 4, and 3 without needing a controller. Doing it is very easy. All it needs is a pair of analog sticks, but you wouldn’t start playing non-racing games with the G29, would you?
G29: Features & Performance
The pedalboard is one of the most substantial reasons to recommend the Logitech G29 over its competitors. It is a three-pedal setup: accelerator, brake, and clutch. Each has a different tension style, mirroring what you get in real cars.
An essential improvement in the G29 is the brakes. It is progressive, gives you better control over the braking force, and is more realistic. In addition to decent pedals, one of the Logitech G29’s neat additional features is the LED display that sits directly above the center of the steering wheel. It acts as a rev counter, letting you know when it’s time to change gears.
Gear shifting is accomplished using race-style paddles behind each side of the wheel. They are tough, clicky, and made of metal, giving you the right gear-change action.
The wheel itself rotates about 900 degrees. It allows two and a half turns before the wheel locks. While the Thrustmaster wheel plays off the ‘Top Trumps feature’ with a 1080-degree rotation, we’re happy with what Logitech offers.
Wheels like the Logitech G29 Driving Force make driving games much more enjoyable. We love the force feedback wheels. However, we’re also disappointed that Logitech didn’t do more to address the granular ‘notchy’ feel of the wheel action and G series-style feedback.

Installation G29 for PlayStation and PC
- Connect the power adapter and USB cable as shown in the image above. Each time your Logitech G29 Racing Wheel is connected to the system, the Wheel will rotate to each side and then center to perform calibration. The G29 Racing Wheel will be ready once this calibration is complete.
- The Logitech G29 Racing Wheel features a built-in clamp system for tabletop mounting. Press down and turn the clamp knob to unlock or lock. Turn the clamp knob to loosen or tighten the clamp.
The clamp extender must be removed for installation on thicker tables.

How do I install the Logitech G29 software?
Windows
Download and Installation Procedure:
- Click the link (Download Here), select (Save), specify “Save As,” then click (Save) to download the file.
- The downloaded file will be saved in the specified place in the format (Zip, Rar, or .exe).
- If the file is a Zip or Rar file, you must extract it before installing it.
