Logitech Blue Sona Review

Logitech Blue Sona Software, Driver Updates, & Manual Guide – Logitech has added their new product to complete the content creator’s gear. The new product from Logitech is a microphone which they named Blue Sona.

Blue Sona Design

Logitech’s Blue Sona looks different from most microphones on the market. While most XLR microphones come in cylindrical shapes of various sizes, Logitech is bucking that trend by making its kit the shape of a rectangular prism.

Logitech has focused so much on the appearance of this microphone that it looks great. This microphone comes in a traditional black-and-white finish to fit in with any studio design and color.

The Blue sona has a pop filter with a magnetic connector on the base and can be swapped out to different colors to provide a more contrasting look. Aesthetics was a top priority when Logitech designed this microphone.

The practicality of the design shines through. Because the Blue Sona uses an internal shock mount, it doesn’t connect to the mount via regular rings made of elastic, charged metal.

Microphone Features

The Blue Sona microphone is an active dynamic XLR microphone that uses Logitech’s ClearAmp technology, which claims to “deliver superior studio quality sound,” targeted at streamers and gamers.

The Logitech Blue Sona XLR competes with high-end microphone lineups from Røde, Shure, and Audio-Technica. At around $350, the Logitech Blue Sona is in direct competition with the Shure SM7B.

This microphone features an XLR jack rather than a USB audio output. It is aimed at you as content creators who want the best audio possible through their mixes.

The Blue Sona has a dual-diaphragm dynamic capsule that Logitech says provides “super low-end sound and incredible detail. “One diaphragm captures sound audio while the other “absorbs unwanted sound and vibrations.”

Should You Buy It?

Yes, as long as you don’t already own a Shure SM7B. The Logitech Blue Sona is as good as a Shure, not better, and the two devices sound so similar that they make it a poor choice to replace a working Shure microphone.
